Artists To Watch: Dario D'Attis

Although Dario D'Attis is already quite some time in the electronic music biz, the Swiss DJ has become one of the hottest producers for Deep House and Tech House in the last months.

Dario has garnered an international reputation as being a great DJ and equally unique producer. No wonder that he is now releasing his tracks on quality record labels such as Defected, Strictly Rhythm and Toolroom.

The style of his productions can be described as infectious, fresh and dancefloor orientated. You can hear that his roots lie in the Garage and New Jersey House sounds, which strongly influenced Dario D'Attis in the 90s. And now he is combining all this to a very modern House sound.

The current productions of Dario D'Attis fit perfectly in my DJ sets, especially when switching from Deep House sounds to more pumping Tech House tunes. So Dario, keep up the good work, I am looking forward to your new output!

Artists To Watch: Cristoph

Chris Costigan a.k.a. Cristoph caught my attention end of 2014 with an amazing House track called "101". Following his other productions it was quite clear to me that this guy from Newcastle (England) is a rising star!

His DJ sets and productions range from Deep House to Tech House, with forward pushing basslines and quality melodies. No wonder real music lovers begin to notice him. As a teen he already started to express his love for electronic music by experimenting with instruments and different production equipment. And he began to dj as alias CJ Costigan, playing a Progressive House sound.

In the meantime he is deejaying in the top clubs of this planet, is releasing music on quality record labels such as Defected, DFTD, Suara, Noir and Knee Deep In Sound and is even touring with DFTD.

I use a lot of tracks from Cristoph in my DJ sets, as they exactly match my kind of music: no boredom or melancholy, but a strong forward momentum, combined with interesting melodies.

Joey Boombap aka Boombap Soundorchestra is a Dutch DJ & Producer, who focus on a wide variety of authentic HouseMUSIC. Think of genre's like Chicago House, Detroit Techno, UK Garage. His passion lies within the UK Bassline, House and Techno type of tunes, “It's gotta have more funk, I wanna groove” are familiar phrases of him. Creativity and music is what matters most so he is open to everything and can be inspired by anything.

Growing up in a fast living city who loves to party, and living in a TIME where house music was probably at it's peak. It's like he is kidnapped by the very essence of music, that energetic feeling never let him go. Jasper Sepers - a analog freak with a heart of Techno who has been writing and producing electronic music fore a long time - worked on different innovative electronic music projects like Electro duo's, an Electro pop band, Electronic Yoga music, but also on commercial electronic projects, such as electronic production for bands and commercials.
However enjoying electronic music to its fullest, it is Techno where his heart is. Therefore, in the beginning of 2014, Jasper gave up his job and decided to start solo as Elektrolove – first picked up by some local radio stations, but soon won several remix contests and then he was selected by Loveland as one of the top 3 new upcoming DJ’s in Amsterdam.

About the artist:
South African DJ/Producer, Kenny Dolo, was born in Cape Town, South Africa. The artist is a focused and self driven individual who started music in his early years of primary school playing various live instruments such as the Recorder, Piano, Clarinet and Drums at various school concerts. As years went by he fell in-love with the idea of producing his own digital music.

In 2009 Kenny Dolo began experimenting music on digital workstations on his laptop. Three years later of being exposed to so many computer hardware and software plugins, various artists such as Deep house producers and DJ's, he started his own music label in 2012 called Dream Deep Music which focused on producing Deep House, Tech House, Minimal and Soulful House music. The label is currently operating and growing steadily collaborating with many local South African artists around the country.

Kenny Dolo's sound in music is influenced by many artists around the world such as Atjazz, Black Coffee, Ralf Gum, Jimpster, Solomun, HVOB, Stimming, Maya Jane Coles just to name a few.

Solomun has played a major role in redefining European House Music, with productions, remixes and stand-out DJ sets that take the very building blocks of House and sensitively reconstruct them: adding a fresh, ultramodern twist to the genre. A well-respected underground producer for a number of years, he regularly hits the top spot of readers’ polls in music industry magazines - confirming his measure in every important category.

First and foremost, H.O.S.H. considers himself to be a DJ, someone who prises the art of mixing records and sequencing journeys - preferably long ones - over anything else. Ask any of the people who have been lost in one of his residencies at the likes of Watergate, Studio 80, Warung or EGO in Hamburg over the last few years, and they are unlikely to disagree.

About the artist:
UNER is one of the most important names of the new generation of Spanish electronic music producers. His musical training allowed him to develop at a very early age a different dance music concept, based on the pleasure for harmony and the search for a unique, personal sound. This has lead him to edit for labels like Diynamic (where he's an active member and has edited his most celebrated works to date, "Raw Sweat" and "Bassboot"), 2020 Vision, Get Physical, Defected or CR2 to mention a few. UNER has earned the respect of the music industry with talent and work: names like Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox or Luciano play his music on a regular basis; clubs like Berlin's Watergate or Space ibiza book him oftenly and his number of fans increases by the day; all of this because of what he does best, his music.

Apart from traveling around the world as a Dj, in 2011 UNER presented his live gigs, an audiovisual concept in which he uses state-of-the-art software and hardware (from iPads to mini midi keyboards) to explore his most solid, personal side. The artistic expansion of the Catalonian producer will go on during the following months with the creation of several artist albums where he'll express his way of understanding electronic music from a musical point of view and from the center of the dancefloor. UNER's bound to reach higher tops with the only limit of his music... so there's still loads to see, listen and dance.

Luigi Rocca:

Manuel De La Mare is a DJ, producer and label owner of 303Lovers and Hotfingers. He quickly developed his own style which is the result of the lifetime musical influence. His eclectic production varies between all possible electronic genres, gaining fame among controversial crowds. He reaches the world's hottest destinations from Asia to South and North America, Africa and spots all over Europe. Manuel released music and collaborated with some of the best record labels like Tiger Records, Spinnin, Toolroom, Definitive and Ministry of Sound. Manuel launched his own labels 303Lovers and Hotfingers back in 2007 along with Alex Kenji and Marshall. The labels have now showed themselves as one of the key names in House and Techno Music with a never-ending flow of quality releases.
